
Summary Biography
Robin has been serving on the Court of Appeals since she was elected in 2000, as the first woman elected to the North Carolina appellate courts without having been
appointed first. Before that, she practiced law for about 25 years, handling civil, criminal and domestic cases, as well as many workers' compensation cases and hundreds of appeals. In 2004, she won the Outstanding Appellate Judge Award presented by the NC Academy of Trial Lawyers. She continues to apply the law impartially in many difficult cases, while looking forward to continued service in the courts. She graduated from Yale in 1973 and UNC-Chapel Hill School of Law in 1976. Robin is married with two grown children.

CURRENT OCCUPATION: Judge, North Carolina Court of Appeals, elected November 2000, sworn in January 2001 to term expiring 12-31-08 (first NC woman elected to appellate division without having been first appointed.) Coordinator of Court of Appeals mediation program.
